A timber batten or metal profile (steel frame, metal studs, etc.) is installed inside the receptor and fixed to the lateral flanges using bolts.
The lower strip of the pad is fixed to the floor or secondary batten using stainless steel nails or expansion bolts. The upper strip secures the primary batten with two nails or one screw on each side.
Pads should be installed in rows at 400 mm centres when battens are spaced at 330 mm. The cavity between battens must be filled with sound-absorbing material such as mineral wool.
All isolation systems must remain fully decoupled from the building structure to ensure proper acoustic performance. Floating floors must not come into direct contact with surrounding walls or structural elements to prevent acoustic bridges and vibration transfer.
