Ensure that the existing floor surface is smooth, without any humps or unevenness exceeding 5 mm. If necessary, perform a levelling screed to create a flat and even base for the sound insulation installation.

Step 2: Apply DCstrip Tape

Adhere the DCstrip tape along the perimeter of the floor where the sound insulation panels will be installed. The tape should also cover the finishing layer of the gypsum board for flooring. This tape acts as a barrier to prevent sound leakage through the edges of the panels.

Step 3: Start Panel Installation

Begin installing the F-MUTE SYSTEM™ panels from the part of the floor in front of the door to avoid having a joint between two panels at the entrance of the room. Place the first panel and ensure it fits securely against the walls and the previously applied DCstrip tape.

Step 4: Fill Panel Joint Gaps

Fill the joint gaps between the panels with DClant sealant. This ensures a tight seal and minimises sound transmission through the gaps. Follow our instructions for applying the sealant.

Step 5: Continue Panel Installation

Continue installing the panels, interlocking them tightly to cover the entire area of the room. Make sure each panel is securely connected to the previous one for optimal sound insulation performance.

Step 6: Install Plasterboard Floorboards

To complete the system, install 12-15 mm-thick plasterboard floorboards directly onto the F-MUTE SYSTEM™ panels. Secure the floorboards in place using DCscrew 30mm screws. This additional layer helps further enhance sound insulation and provides a stable base for the final flooring.
