Introducing F-MUTE SYSTEM™ 23, DECIBEL’s ultra-thin floor soundproofing system engineered to improve both airborne and impact sound insulation while adding only 23 mm of panel thickness.
Designed for residential properties, offices, studios, restaurants, bars, home cinemas and other noise-sensitive spaces, F-MUTE SYSTEM™ 23 creates a decoupled acoustic layer between the supporting floor and the final floor build-up.
The system combines a dense fibreboard with resilient acoustic foam, reducing both airborne sound transmission and impact noise through the floor structure. Acoustic modelling over a 200 mm concrete floor achieves Rw 68 dB airborne sound insulation and Ln,w 52 dB impact sound pressure level.
F-MUTE SYSTEM™ 23 is suitable for concrete, steel and timber floor structures and can be installed below laminate, parquet, carpet, lino, engineered flooring and tiled finishes, subject to the appropriate finishing build-up.
For the recommended installation, the panels are laid over the prepared substrate with perimeter isolation using DCstrip, panel joints are sealed with DClant acoustic sealant, and the system is finished with 15 mm gypsum fibreboard for flooring, fixed using DCscrew 30 mm fasteners.
